is there a middle ground?
In my argument class this unit we have been focusing on thesis, antithesis, and synthesis. We watched a documentary called the thirteenth. We also talked to Andy Clarno who is a UIC sociologist, he talked to us about critical race theory, racism in the U.S, gang database and the prison industrial complex. We also read chapter 17, " Or does it explode?" in Howard Zinn's "A people's History". We wrapped up this unit we watched a lecture from prof. Holloway a professor at Yale. Finally, we were asked to make up our own dialectic argument including a thesis, antithesis, and synthesis. I decided to create a dialectic argument about abortion. I included slides of my argument below!
Overall, I enjoyed this action project, I think this topic is kind of hard. It's easy to say that you side with one side of the argument when both sides do have valid points. It is also easy to say that there is no middle ground but there is. I wish I could have had more time for this project that way I could have dug a little more in both sides but I think I was able to get the basic idea.
